Hard-Working Fairies (92 Words)

Of course Captain Roberts knew about the fairies. He was proud of them. Roberts had retired from the sea when his health broke with the rough weather, and his happiness was divided between his wife, who owned the tavern, and the tribe of fairies who helped with the brewing and cooking.

He had never imagined them stealing his model boats and transforming them into tables and barstools.

At first, he didn’t quite understand. Captain Roberts was a little blind. At first he only said,

“What’s the armada, my dear?”

Before he understood.

This short-story was written today in response to not only the Daily Post but the Friday Fictioneer’s PromptApparently Wallie didn’t understand the deadline. He is a funny little fellow.
