It was 3:30 in the morning—she sat with her hands gripping the wheel.
She had driven this road ever since she was sixteen, but somehow the north-pointing arrow, stark white on gleaming asphalt, felt as if it were speaking to her.
She set her foot on the pedal and didn’t look back.
